Michael Drumke Speaks to the ABA House of Delegates
Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP partner and American Bar Association (ABA) Board of Governors member Michael Drumke spoke to the ABA House of Delegates on August 8, offering a resolution from the ABA Standing Committee on Election Law.
Resolution No. 602 urges government entities to adopt guidelines to ensure integrity of the election process; urges adequate funding to educate the public, dispel misinformation and disinformation and ensure the protection and safety of election officials and voters. The resolution passed the House unanimously.
"Elections, as usual, seem a thing of the past; rather, some disturbing behaviors and actions seem to be the new normal," Michael said. "Interestingly, these threats are somewhat intertwined. Threats and harassment of election officials seem to go hand-in-hand with misinformation and disinformation in the voting process."
