2Civility Highlights Givers and Getters Panel with WBAI
2Civility, the blog of the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism, recently ran a article highlighting Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP's recent panel on women's business development, "How to Get the Business: A Conversation with Givers and Getters."Written by 2Civility's Katherine Erwin, the article notes that the dual importance of being a good lawyer and developing business. Per Erwin, "The panelists were in general agreement that business development results in many cases from developing relationships, something that most women are quite skilled at."
Erwin quoted Women's Bar Association of Illinois President Eugena Whitson-Owen that '“women tend to be natural relationship-builders in their personal lives. The trick is how to translate those relationships to business opportunities.”''
